 about our authorshe's been apart of the alternative scene for longer than she can remember. raised on all kinds of music music-- all the way from Pink Floyd to Die Antwoord-- and raised by one hell of an activist mother. naimah knew who she was and what she wanted from a young age.her muses are simon gallup (bassist of the cure) and Siouxsie Sioux (front woman of Siouxsie and The Banshees) 

 about us!  ˖ ࣪ ִ𖤐 created as a free outlet for our author, naimah owens, to express herself through journaling, blogging, drawing, whatever... we're trying to connect like minded people through alternative subculture. doesn't matter what medium it is, we're here for it.
˖ ࣪ ִ𖤐 we want to be part of YOUR scene, let us know what's happening by emailing! we actually respond, it's not some automated robot. we're totally open to travelling (with in michigan, of course) so tell us what events to look out for!
˖ ࣪ ִ𖤐 EMPATH Magazine goes against the grain. with the new rise of puritan culture and conservatism, we're here to go against it. we are pro-human, pro-creativity, pro-earth. that means we're against generative ai, fast fashion, and generally- over consumption. it's all about d.i.y., baby!

where to expect to see us : we're heading over to Summer Shred in Flint, MI here on 26th July to (hopefully) interview some local bands and have a good time.
currently listens :ㅤ we've been super into a few albums these past few weeks.... "Sonic Jahid" by Snake River Conspiracy, "Midnight Boom" by The Kills, "The Scream" by Siouxsie and The Banshees. 100% worth a listen.
currently reading : once again with The Banshees, we've been reading Laurence Hedges' "Siouxsie and The Banshees, The Early Years". If you're into biographies, check it out! An honorable mention to Kurt Vonnegut's "Cat's Cradle". Vonnegut is a fav from us.

We've been digging a lot of different bands lately- not just goth bands, even though those are pretty damn good too...!
We're into a lot of different genres, and recently it's been a LOT of Post-Punk. Bands like The Sound, Sad Lovers & Giants, The Glove..
These past few days, we've been listening to Elliott Smith and Modest Mouse.I think that a list of alllllllll the music we like would make this page 10x bigger, so we'll save you from reading all of that and give an updated blog post, hopefully (but not guaranteed) at least once month, that talks about all of the music we've been into!
